Citroen recently unveiled its new C5 sedan, a model which has substantially more powerful and dynamic lines than its predecessor. The assertive front end of the new C5 is reminiscent of the C5 Airscape concept recently unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, as are its tail lamps and the distinctive waistline running from the lower portion of the headlamp to the rear, intersected by the front wheelarch.

In profile, the C5 has a fluid, aerodynamic form concealing its large proportions: 4.78m long, 1.86m wide and 1.45m tall. The extended roofline underlines the flowing proportions of the body while a large glazed area allows light into the cabin. The C5's concave rear window treatment - a Citroen identifying element as in the C6 - and two-part 'boomerang lights' combine to impart an assertive look to the rear end.

Fitting with its exterior design the C5 has an inviting interior that benefits from its 2.82m wheelbase and conveys an impression of quality. The taut lines symbolize precision, while the flowing curves express dynamics. Dissociated from the central console, the dashboard enhances the impression of space and is fitted with flush closing air vents. The now familiar fixed-hub steering wheel is also a prominent feature.
